ROBERT KRUŽÍK belongs to the youngest generation of Czech conductors. From January 2016 he is a permanent conductor of Janáček Opera House of the National Theatre Brno as well as of Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava (2016-2019), permanent guest conductor of Brno Philharmonic starting the season 2018/2019. In April 2020, he accepted the offer of the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic and from the 2021/22 season he is its Chief Conductor. He is the laureate
of the Jiří Bělohlávek Award.
Since 2014, he has been working for Janáček Opera House as an assistant conductor on productions
of Maria di Rohan by Gaetano Donizetti and operas Carmen, The Kiss (Hubička), The Miracles of Mary (Hry o Marii), The Devil and Kate (Čert a Káča).
Robert Kružík directed his interpretation of Rossini's Le comte Ory, Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades and Eugene Onegin.
In the beginning of season 2018/2019 he directed premiere of Smetana´s Libuše to the 100th anniversary of foundation of the Czech Republic. Der Rosenkavalier from Richard Strauss, Martinů´s Greek Passion and Otello from Giuseppe Verdi.
